What we keep. Why. How to get rid of it.

The short version

Flatscope is operated by a UK sole trader. We store the minimum needed to run your account and your research. We do not sell your data. We do not show your data to estate agents. We do not run third-party ad pixels. Email hello@flatscope.co.uk to get a copy of everything we hold on you, or to ask us to delete it.

What we store

• Your email address. Used to sign you in via magic link and to send the report-ready notification.
• The Rightmove URLs you submit and the analyses Flatscope produces from them.
• Notes you add during the post-viewing review.
• Watch-event records when a listing you analysed changes price or comes off the market.
• A salted hash of your IP address when you submit an anonymous analysis. Used only for rate-limiting and not linked to your identity.
• Standard server logs (request path, response status, user-agent) retained for 30 days for abuse prevention.

What we do not store

• Card details. Payments go through a regulated payment processor and we never see the card number.
• Your name, address or phone number. We do not ask for them.
• The contents of any third-party email account.
• Browsing activity outside Flatscope.

Who we share data with

Flatscope uses a small number of subprocessors to run the service. Each only sees the slice of data they need. Categories include hosting and database, transactional email, listing-page retrieval and large-language-model inference. The LLM providers we use do not use Flatscope inputs to train their models under our terms.

We do not share data with estate agents, mortgage brokers, surveyors, insurers or lenders unless you explicitly use the in-product Share feature to invite a specific person to a specific report.

Cookies

We use two cookies. flatscope-anon-token is set when you submit an analysis without an account, so we can show you the finished report and rate-limit anonymous use. It contains a random identifier, no personal data, and expires after 24 hours. A session cookie is set when you sign in, keeps you signed in across page loads, and expires when you sign out. We do not use analytics, marketing or advertising cookies.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You can ask us to send you a copy of every piece of data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete everything. Email hello@flatscope.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days. There is no fee.

If you believe we have mishandled your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Data retention

Analyses, notes and watch-event records are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove all of them within 7 days. Anonymous analyses are kept for 60 days then deleted. Server logs are kept for 30 days then deleted.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we store or who we share it with, we will email registered users at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Cosmetic edits to this page do not trigger an email.
